Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Dripstone, Terra, and running your Minecraft server.
What is the easiest way to host a Minecraft server?
Dripstone is designed for this. Sign in with Google, subscribe for $9.99/month, and tell Terra (the built-in AI admin) what you want in plain language — she creates the server, manages the whitelist, and handles admin tasks through chat. No control panel, no port forwarding, no config files.
How much does a Minecraft server cost?
Dripstone charges a flat $9.99/month for one always-on private Java Edition server (Standard, 3.5GB), or $19.99/month for a whole dedicated machine to yourself (8GB). No per-player fees, no setup costs. Cancel anytime.
What is Dripstone?
Dripstone is AI-first Minecraft server hosting. Instead of a control panel, you get Terra — an AI assistant that manages your server through chat. Tell her to create a world, whitelist friends, change difficulty, or troubleshoot issues. She handles the rest.
Do I need technical skills to run a Dripstone server?
No. Terra handles setup, configuration, and troubleshooting through conversation. If you can send a text message, you can run a Dripstone server.
Which Minecraft edition does Dripstone support?
Java Edition only. Bedrock (console/mobile) is not currently offered.
Can my friends join my Dripstone server?
Yes. Tell Terra your friends' Minecraft usernames and she adds them to the whitelist. Only whitelisted players can join — your server stays private.
How does Terra work?
Terra is an AI assistant built into Dripstone. After you subscribe, open the chat and describe what you want — a survival world, a creative world, specific players whitelisted. Terra provisions the server and manages it ongoing: restarts, difficulty changes, player management, and troubleshooting.
Is there a limit on how much I can chat with Terra?
Yes. Each subscription includes up to 1,000 Terra chat turns per billing month (max 100 per day, 2 concurrent). A turn is one message plus Terra's reply. The server keeps running even if you hit the limit — only chat pauses until the next cycle.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from the Stripe customer portal. Your server stays up until the end of the billing period.
How is Dripstone different from other Minecraft hosts?
Traditional hosts give you a control panel (like Multicraft) and expect you to configure everything yourself. Dripstone replaces the control panel with Terra — you describe what you want in chat, and she does it. Less granular control, much lower friction.
Who runs Dripstone?
Dripstone is built and operated by Josiah Wilson, a solo founder. Contact: [email protected].
